1. Overview

At FetchVid, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our video downloading service.

2. Data We Collect

We minimize retained data and do not permanently store downloaded media. Our service operates primarily on a pass-through basis:

• Submitted URLs and extraction results may be cached for up to 10 minutes to improve speed and reduce infrastructure cost
• Downloaded videos pass through our servers. When we prepare a file for delivery it may be cached on our storage for up to 1 hour so repeat downloads are fast, then it is deleted automatically
• We do not create user accounts or profiles

Anonymous Analytics: We use Cloudflare Analytics to collect anonymous page view metrics (page visits, country-level geographic data, browser type). This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

Contact Form: When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. This information is logged for support purposes but is not stored persistently in a database.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to save:

• Your theme preference (dark/light mode)
• An anonymous download count for usage statistics
• Your recent download history (stored locally on your device only)

We also use browser session storage to preserve your current session state (e.g., extracted media results) so they survive accidental page refreshes. This data is automatically cleared when you close the browser tab.

4. Advertising

We display advertisements provided by third-party ad networks to support the free operation of this service. These advertisements:

• Are provided by third-party advertising scripts and may load content in their own iframes
• May set their own cookies or collect technical request information under their privacy policy
• May open new browser tabs when clicked

One advertisement may open in a new tab at most once per visit, after a genuine download click. Regular navigation does not intentionally open advertising tabs.

Each ad network handles data within its ad content under its own privacy policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Our service is hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare may collect technical data (IP addresses, request metadata) as part of their infrastructure operations. Please review Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for more information.

6. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. Data Security

Data transmitted to and from our service is encrypted using HTTPS. Downloaded media is not retained, and short-lived extraction caches expire automatically.

8. Your Rights

We do not create user profiles. If you submitted a contact form and wish to have that information removed, please contact us. Browser-local preferences and history can be cleared through your browser settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
